Well it’s that dreaded time of year again for teachers as school term starts again. Or as the French refer to this time of the year, La Rentrée!!! In Ireland the teachers have all enjoyed a good 6 week break and the rest of us have enjoyed a traffic light summer!!
So as we in IDA’s Emerging Business team kick into September (there has been no rest for us this summer I should add) I thought I’d share an update on our summer goings-on.
We have presented awards to Wayfair at the 2015 Nevy Awards in #Boston, hosted a summer networking BBQ in #Dublin with Ulster Bank, joined forces with Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey to host a tasting at the ATC CEO Summit in #Austin and partnered with Informilo and Orrick in both #London and #Paris for an evening focused on scaling European companies internationally. Heading to West Coast USA, our team got the insight scoop on LA's hottest tech companies at the Silicon Fest in #Marina Del Rey whilst also ensuring their networking efforts were stellar at Collision in Las Vegas.
Our insights and writing skills have also been put to use with IDA's Barry O’Dowd featuring on Hot Topics (the fastest growing online community of tech leaders sharing their stories and opinions) exploring the key trends in digital medicine. Barry also had the opportunity to host Mayor Adler of Austin for a breakfast with some of our Texan HQ'd companies including Dell, Indeed.com and Loop1Systems.

We announced the creation of 185 new jobs for Dublin and Wexford from 5 North American companies and 1 European-based high growth company. Welcoming Artisan Insfrastructure, NuoDB, MegaTransfert, Modern Marketing Concepts, Data Clarity and CRI to Ireland.
The summer also saw one of tech's latest Unicorns Slack announce its European HQ in Ireland along with Wrike and an expansion of its exiting Irish operations for Qualtrics, between them all promising 250 new jobs for Dublin.
