This year’s Oscar nominations reveals an impressive array of Irish names, across a broad range of categories, including Best Lead Actress (Saoirse Ronan, Ladybird), Best Lead Actor (Daniel Day Lewis, Phantom Thread), Best Original Screenplay (Martin McDonagh, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) and Best Animated Feature (Cartoon Saloon, The Breadwinner), amongst others.
